Pryor’s first real bona-fide “full-time” mayor – the $70,000 variety – was elected by huge margin Tuesday.
Turns out, the people are happy with the job that Jimmy Tramel, the part-time mayor who works full-time-plus, has been doing.
Seventy percent of voters marked their ballots for the incumbent, who not only swept all six precincts but received every vote in Precinct 21.
Only three people voted all day, however, in Precinct 21.
“I just want to say thanks for the vote of confidence and it’s up to me now to make sure to retain that confidence,” said Tramel at the county courthouse Tuesday night where the vote was announced.
Tramel received 1,024 of the 1,461 votes cast.
In the only other race Tuesday, Roy Ray was re-elected to the Ward 1 council seat with 56 percent popularity.
Thirty-four minutes after the polls closed at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Mayes County Election Board Secretary Jill McCullah had the final results.
